Hancock Shaker Village: The Big Chill, a day of winter fun on Sun, Feb 17, 11- 5pm

Hancock Shaker Village invites you to take part in vintage ice-harvesting with expert Dennis Picard who demonstrates the trade from our Shaker ice house using antique tools (some invented in Massachusetts) such as a saw that stands taller than he stands and has cutting teeth as long as fingers. Picard has been demonstrating ice harvesting for decades.

Club Zambezi Dance Party! – Feb 15, 8pm & Feb 16, 2pm at ’62 Center

All are invited to dance it up & feel the heat blazing from the fire we call the Zambezi Dance Party! Bring yourself, bring a friend, bring the family to listen & dance to the amazing music. Inspired by traditional Zimbabwean music as well as contemporary African styles, Zambezi’s chromatic marimbas are hybrids, combining tempered tuning with a rich and buzzy African tone. Sweat optional. Smiles and laughter unavoidable.

Inhabiting the Landscape: Winter at the Clark on Sun, Feb 17, 2-3:30pm

Join Grounds Manager Matthew Noyes for a winter stroll and learn about the Clark’s approach to winterizing the museum’s 140-acre campus.  Learn how the Clark balances fine art aesthetics with a commitment to environmental responsibility… hear about all of the opportunities for fun seasonal activities on Stone Hill. After the guided walk, borrow a pair of snowshoes and explore the campus on your own!

Visitors should meet at the Orientation Center located outside the entrance to the Clark Center. Space is limited and registration is required. Extreme weather cancels this event.
