Public access TV is an invaluable tool for a community that thinks globally and acts locally. As Production Manager at WilliNet, I am proud to facilitate community engagement in Williamstown and throughout the Berkshires, whether we’re broadcasting municipal meetings, co-producing arts, politics, or culture-related shows with local citizens, or running media-making workshops with local schoolchildren.

WilliNet is a trusted source for information about our community & a vital media resource for Williamstown. As a Board member, I will work to support the mission of the organization & the growth of its programming.

When I interned at Willinet in 2005, I immediately felt that it was special. The people—the Willinet staff and all the community members that contribute to the programming—all want to make their community a better place. As I continue to strengthen my roots in Williamstown, I hope to share my community vision and help others to realize theirs.

I’m proud to participate on the Willinet board! Our community television station provides access to local government, education, and community activities.

To me, Willinet is three things: a portal, a witness, and an archive. In all these ways, Willinet educates us and sustains our sense of community. Our function as a town, a democracy, and a home depends on this work. Willinet holds the thread that connects us, reminding us of who we are, who we have been, and who we might become.

Serving on both the WilliNet and Milne Library boards, I focus on expanding access to local stories and media-making tools. WilliNet’s production resources are essential for helping more residents tell their own stories and engage with local media.

I joined the WilliNet board because I believe a strong community thrives when people are empowered to speak, learn, and connect. Technology mediates our speech: I’m passionate about making media access a space for inquiry, dialogue, and civic participation, helping bridge technology and humanity so that everyone in our community can share, receive, and engage with information that matters.
