Green River Cleanup Walk rescheduled to Saturday, July 18 at 1:00pm

South Williamstown Community Assoc. invites all to join with the Hoosic River Watershed Assoc. to clear Green River debris. More info: Contact:  Bette Craig (413) 652-9098. This event was postponed last weekend due to thunderstorms.  Come cleanup on SAT, JULY 18, 1:00pm.

If you’re able bodied and not afraid of slipping on wet stones, join us for a cleanup walk along the Green River. This is a project we’ve done in collaboration with the Hoosic River Watershed Association for the last few years to address the debris washing into the river from a former town landfill located behind the Hart farm on New Ashford Road (Rte 7).
Park at the Hart Garage and cross the road to walk down the driveway at , 340 New Ashford Road. You’ll need rubber boots and gloves and don’t forget to spray yourself with insect repellant. Covid-19 restrictions on wearing a mask and social distancing will be in effect. The Town will provide us with garbage bags and arrange for disposal.

Peter Beck wins 5 year seat on W’town Planning Board. Beck: 407 votes to Carlisle: 307 votes

16% voter turnout with 738 total votes cast (4,599 registered voters). 476 Early Voting ballots returned (532 mailed out). 262 people voted at WES Polls on June 23.

Planning Board candidate Peter Beck won in all 3 precincts. Precinct 1: Beck 149 votes to Carlisle 120 votes.  Precinct 2: Beck 70 votes to Carlisle 58 votes.  Precinct 3:  Beck 180 votes to Carlisle 121 votes.
