The Berkshire Org. for Original Music brings you this studio show featuring some of the region's best talents! Sammy Brown, singer-songwriter has been playing professionally since the 1970's either as a solo act or with the "Sammy Brown Band." He has done studio work for himself, other artists or for television and radio. In 1980 he moved from R.I. to Los Angeles were he performed in the beach cities, Hollywood, Palm Springs, shared the stage with Sally Struthers, Kenny Rankin, and Charles Nelson-Riley to name just a few. He left L.A. to do a five month booking in Austin,Tx.and then returned to N.England and released his first album "Strong Box." Shortly thereafter, as a part of the humanitarian effort extended to the people of New York following the Sept. 11 tragedy, Brown was featured as the first musician to play in the bi-weekly "Music to Manhattan" series which took place at Nino's restaurant on N.Y.'s Canal St. Concentrating on his originals, he began recording his favorites for a new CD.The CD,a collection of everything from heartbreak and innocent love, to a song about the fire that destroyed his home, and one about his daughters pony, is called "Kissing Booth." Since then he has released the "Rockin' Chair" CD, performed briefly in Northern California, then took time off after the death of his wife of 28 years, Cheryl. He's returned to performing mostly in the Berkshires, MA, and is currently working on a new collection of songs with the working title "No Present like the Time."
