North Berkshire Community Dance: Sat, Jan 11, 7:30-10:30 PM at W’town Community Preschool

Led by caller Paul Rosenberg, the evening will feature lots of simple dances appropriate for novices and families. Bring a partner or come alone. Beginners are warmly welcome! Experienced dancers will find the group lively, especially later in the evening. Sat, Jan 11, 7:30-10:30 pm at W’town Community Preschool located at the corner of Route 2 and Route 43.

Three North Adams musicians known across New England will perform traditional and contemporary reels and jigs, likely also slipping in a few vintage but non-traditional popular tunes like Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue.  Todd Reynolds, violinist for Steve Reich, Meredith Monk and Bang on a Can, will join Eric Buddington on fiddle and Tony Pisano on accordion, members of the band Coincidance.

NBCD will also hold a snack potluck halfway through the dance, and everyone is welcome. (The school is a no-nuts zone, but dancers may bring cookies, cheese and crackers, apples, popcorn, etc.)

The recently formed North Berkshire Community Dance holds dances on second Saturdays monthly at the former Methodist Church at 777 Main St., Williamstown, at the corner of Route 2 and Route 43.

The North Berkshire Community Dance group is affiliated with the national Country Dance and Song Society and the Dance Flurry Organization in Albany, N.Y. For more information, please visit northberkshiredance.org or www.facebook.com/northberkshiredance.

  • Construction – I can swing a hammer (or willing to learn)
  • Fundraising – I can help find funding or organize fundraising events
  • Marketing – I can help get out the Habitat message?
  • Materials – My company can donate/discount materials for house construction
  • Supervisors and experienced help with specific skills are also needed—electricians, plumbers, roofers, heavy equipment operators. If you fall into this category, please contact Paul Austin at 802-694-1606 or email paustin@fairpoint.net. Thank you!
