298 registered Williamstown voters checked-in at Town Mtg. 40 of the 42 warrant articles passed. Citizen Petition to amend bylaw to display Progress Pride flag passed 175-90. Conservation Commission asked that no action be taken on their Art. 40 to transferred control of the Spruces to the Conservation Comm. Art. 42, a Citizens Petition - had no one to speak to the article & no action was taken.
Joe Bergeron, current Assistant Superintendent, to become Interim Superintendent. School Comm. moves forward after Jake McCandlish's sudden resignation on May 17. WES Principal Cindy Sheehy also resigned this month. Committee Chair Christina Conry read a prepared statement of thanks & acknowledgement: "Dr. McCandless steered our team through our COVID reopening & began the difficult community conversation about bias in our district."
