DIRE Comm. outlines their process & articulate: "...like every other community in the U.S., our town & its residents are impacted by racism. Our work is to discover if our town's institutions and rules (policies, laws, procedures) deliberately or inadvertently encode such inequities. Our goal is not to assess blame but to seek accountability where appropriate and change as needed."
DIRE Comm begins internal dialogue to clarify principals & values, mechanism of engagement, defining the process that will guide them to build the trust in the community for sustainable change, on their Agenda for next meeting.
DIRE met to discuss the Select Board's update on the complaint against the Police Dept. and review a preliminary request of policing data by Nicholas Goldrosen.
